My Words To Live By

Over the past year or so, I would say that I have accomplished more in my life than ever before. I’ve created this life that I can wake up to with a smile on my face every single day. I mean, I can’t even sleep at night because I’m so excited for the next days to come. I am more driven to be successful than ever before, and success to me is not too far away. But like I said, I was not like this forever. I had an experience that made me realize what is important and what you should live by every day.
Now I won’t get into details about what this experience was, buts let’s just say I thought I had my whole life figured out, and turns out it was for all the wrong reason. Everything I thought I lived for was swept from my feet like leaves in the breeze. I was left feeling empty with nothing to turn to, nothing but the gym. Now don’t get the idea that I was one of those kids who ran to the gym every time they had problems in life. Well, I was that kid but that’s not the point I’m trying to convey. The reason why I turned to the gym was because it was the one place I could always turn to and forget about my problems in the outside world, but most of all, it was what made me happy.
This is the most important lesson to life, find what makes you happy. YOU happy, not others and including having them in your presence. If you can not be happy with yourself, your life, then you will never be happy with someone else. Develop your life into exactly how you want it to be, and then let others fall into place. After that life changing experience I promised myself from that moment on, I will live for me. I would do whatever it was that made me happy, and I will develop this life into something I could be proud of every single day. You have one shot at this game we call life, and there are two paths to take; be another member of the crowd, just another number to our total population, or become something greater. Become someone that makes a difference that makes a change to this half broken world, but how? Isn’t this something you only see in movies? Someone makes an amazing change and goes down in history as a legend? Well no, riding this path is simple really. It takes nothing more than a few changes to your lifestyle and daily routine.
When I made this commitment to live my “perfect” life and make a difference I developed a simple group of words, words that I decided to live by for every single day that I breathe. I promised myself that every day I will wake up and make sure that I am the best man I could possibly be, and then the next day, be even better. I took out a piece of paper and wrote down “Stronger Today Than I Was Yesterday.” Then I hung it above my bed, a place where I would read it every single day first thing in the morning. This was my first step to developing this life that I could wake up proud of.
Waking up and reading those words I was ready to take on the day, every day. I took on challenges with everything I had and accomplished every one of them. I went out of my way to be the best man I could possibly be, in every aspect of life. Not just in the gym, but in everything; school, family, friends, even strangers. I made sure that I made my life better every single day, but not only my life. I took on the day with the challenge to improve others’ lives to the best of my capabilities. I looked at the gym completely differently, I wouldn’t settle for failure. Every single challenge I took on, I took on with my head high and faith in my heart, completing each one successfully. And I taught myself that no matter how difficult it was, if I told myself “I can do this” then I could do it.
Next I sat down and asked myself, what in this world do I want? What makes me happy and what is actually important in life? It seems like everyone sets these goals and has these dreams that they never pursue. They just become another star floating in space that you stare at all night, saying “wow isn’t that beautiful” but assuming it’s something you will never touch. Well I set personal goals for myself and made sure every day I become a step closer to reaching them. This is another one of the most important things you can do in your life, set goals. Figure out what you want in life, what makes you happy, set short and long term goals and do whatever it takes to accomplish them. I let nothing stand in the way of me reaching my goals, I knew they were what was important to me and I did everything I could to make those dreams reality, to reach and touch those stars.
If you live this way, I promise your life will do nothing but strive and succeed. If you wake up every single day and do everything you can to make sure you are a better man than the day before, your life will have no choice but to go up. Mountains will start to look like grains of sand and goals will start to turn into everyday reality. Those stars that you were so use to staring at all night, will no longer just be a beautiful image out of reach. They will become the light in your day, the reality of your life.
Take on the game of life with everything you have. Don’t be afraid to takes the risks that scream the image of failure in your eyes. No matter the turnout of any situation, if you gave it your all, at the end of the day you are stronger than you were yesterday. Live and learn and never let yourself stop improving. Make sure you are the best man you could possibly be. Do what makes you happy and inspire others to do the same. Set goals and every-single-day be Stronger Than You Were Yesterday. And remember, if you change a life you change the world. These are my words to live by.
