Quick Sand; It pulls you in, deeper and deeper. As you fight for what you love, as you fight for your life, you are only sucked in even deeper. Every decision you make, every move you take, only pulls you in more. You can reach for a near branch, crying for your safety. But when you can’t reach that branch, you only sink a little closer to the end. So you lay there. You lay in complete motionless watching life go on around you. Knowing how bad you want to be out, how bad you want to fight back, how bad you want to reach for that branch. But you know the second you reach, maybe you’ll miss. And if you miss, you know what happens. You’ll be even deeper. But what if you forget about all the times you missed? What if this time you don’t miss? What if this time you reach for that branch, and you grab a strong hold. What if never giving in, never giving up, and taking that last leap of faith for that branch is the only chance you have? Would you take it? Or would you lay there, lay in that sand never making a move accepting life as it is. Watching the birds fly over you and the leaves fall around you. Finally you’re strong enough to reach for it. You muster up the confidence and take that leap. You conquer your fear of sinking deeper and you take that risk. And by the time you do, the branch has rotted away. Take your chances before its too late. Let your past stay in the past, fearing what has already happened to you only allows that fear to live in your future. Just because you failed once, does not give you the excuse to fear failure in your future. Fear is a liar. -Kevin Lisak
